Correction form: Map the Fallen

Instructions

This form will allow you to submit a request for corrections to information in Map the Fallen.

  • You can only submit corrections for one person at a time.

  • Please complete the sections of this form that are applicable. Only edit fields for information that needs correction.

  • To make corrections to a specific field, click the checkbox to the far left of it enable editing.

  • If you want to volunteer to help verify these corrections, please sign up here: Sign-up page.

We are currently accepting corrections for casualties through March 20th, 2009*

*To be notified when I will start accepting corrections for more recent casulaties, please join the mailing list.

Corrections to locations on the map
 

Step 1.
For each location you want to change, enter city, state/region and country. If this is all you do, we will try to find that location for you.

Step 2.
You can also pick the exact location (e.g. their hometown neighborhood, precise place of death, or where in Arlington National Cemetery they are buried). To do this:

  • Use the map to the right. Search for a city, or move the marker to where you want it.
  • When you are happy with the location, click the "get from map" button to import those exact coordiantes.
  • You can also enter GPS coordinates manually (must be in latitude, longitude in the WGS84 projection)

Get coordinates by dragging the earth, moving the marker,
or searching for an address.

 To zoom, use buttons at upper-left, or double left-click to zoom in
and double right-click to zoom out.
